DATA OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN

Data Tech will perform all activities associated with the creation, maintenance & support of Internet and ATM/Frame Relay customer circuits. Duties include router configuration, e-mail, PVC, DNS & VPN configuration and support. Complete work order activity for new customer installs and existing customer ACDs; Good knowledge of: Windows 95/98/2000 operating systems, customer edge devices such as Adtran, CAC & Cisco and firewalls; Basic local area and wide area network knowledge; familiar with Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access; Ability to interact with customers in a high volume environment; Good interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
College degree or 2 years experience in major area. Basic network knowledge. Basic windows knowledge. Previous telecommunications data ops experience extremely beneficial.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN – LEVEL II
(Houston, TX)
This position is responsible for providing accurate information to both internal and external customers on all inbound and outbound calls, utilizing trouble-shooting skills, test equipment and surveillance tools to provide expeditious resolutions.
Essential functions include (but are not limited to): Answering inbound calls from both internal & external customers to meet the needs of all customers in a timely & professional manner; Responsible for analyzing, testing and trouble-shooting quality of service internet/data issues; Confidently providing information & updates to customers experiencing quality of service issues; Working in unison with other departments & customer vendors to identify & resolve issues; Maintaining daily log of customers requiring follow up; Creating event tickets, maintaining ownership & following through to final resolution; Performing proactive customer service; Maintaining accurate records.
Successful candidate should have at least 5 years networking experience; minimum of 2 years Customer Service/IT Helpdesk experience; ability to follow SOPs, process flows & network documentation; strong understanding of TCP/IP; effective trouble-shooting skills for layer one issues & router configurations; ability to configure Adtran, Cisco & Netopia routers; ability to configure Linksys, Dlink & Netgear small business routers; understanding of IP routing, VLAN switching & IP Sub Netting; strong understanding of NAT, PAT & DHCP configurations, as well as DNS, EMail & Webhosting.
High school diploma or GED required. College degree in Telecommunications preferred. Two years Telecommunications work experience preferred.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - LEVEL I
(Houston, TX)
Our Level I Technical Support Technicians are responsible for providing accurate information to both internal and external Logix customers on all inbound and outbound calls utilizing trouble-shooting skills, as well as testing equipment and surveillance tools to provide expeditious resolutions.
Previous experience in telecom sales or customer service required. Familiarity with Logix products & services a plus. Detail oriented and able to self-manage, track and record daily activity. Good comprehension of telephone etiquette & office protocol, good organizational & coordinating skills.
High school diploma or GED required. College degree in telecommunications preferred. 2 years telecommunications work experience preferred. Proficient in Word & Excel applications.
CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE
(Houston, TX)
Our customer care representatives handle inbound calls regarding service to our customers and billing issues. Previous inbound call center or customer service experience of at least 2 years is required and previous telecom experience is preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
ACD TECHNICIAN
(Houston, TX)
Our ACD Technicians receive and process adds, changes and deletes to existing facility customer accounts;
update SOS records throughout change process; make changes to project file with updated requests;
send orders to the Translations and Data Ops departments if applicable and follow order to completion;
work closely with both the Field Service department and Central Office technicians to coordinate fieldwork;
call customer to inform of Field Service techs scheduled visit; call customer to inform of completion and testing
of order; place order on Daily Workload via email; customer contact through completion of ACD order; and
responsible for order being sent to Billing upon completion.
Position requires detail oriented experience with strong organizational and follow-up skills;
basic knowledge of local services products, such as lines, trunks, DID’s, Internet, and T1’s;
at least one year of previous ACD telecommunications experience; above average interpersonal
and communications skills; basic knowledge of SOS, CISS internal databases; ability to speak with
customers directly and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
OUTSIDE PLANT ENGINEER
(Houston, TX)
The essential functions of our plant engineer are to:
-Direct/coordinate manhole conduit, direct buried & aerial facilities; including research of all facilities;
-Assignments to all service orders, including, but not limited to: plant field, fiber cable & optical equipment assignments, as well as facility coordination;
-Create/maintain plant records, including staking sheets, splicing & building schematics and preliminary facility design records;
-Assist department head in directing/monitoring all plant department engineering, provisioning & construction;
-Establish/maintain good working relations with local, county & state officials;
-Establish/maintain good working relations with ILEC's & other CLEC's engineering/management staff;
-Create origination, completion & corresponding detail for work orders;
-Post all plant activity to staking sheets & schematics. Includes preliminary drawings to red-lines to as-builts;
-Direct CAD work updates to staking sheets & schematics;
-Coordinate with department head staking and/or sizing of facility based elements;
-Direct/coordinate with department head all cut-over activity;
-Coordinate with COE personnel on optical installations & configurations;
-Coordinate, create & maintain ASR, DLR & FOC documentation.
At least five (5) years telecommunications experience in engineering & outside plant; fiber installation, fiber splicing and optical equipment experience required; electrical code specification experience required; manhole, handhole & conduit system experience required. College degree in telecommunications preferred.
