SMART Buildings Provide Premier Communications Service for Tenants

DALLAS (April 7, 2006) - LOGIX Communications, a Texas-based provider of voice and data services to businesses, announces it will soon reach 20 million square feet of office space in its SMART building network in Texas and Oklahoma.  SMART buildings are multi-tenant buildings which have been wired for digital connectivity, enabling LOGIX to offer extra advantages to tenants.

SMART buildings provide enhanced redundancy and allow LOGIX to provide bundled local, long distance and Internet services at competitive pricing to tenants.  Smaller tenants who would not normally be able to access LOGIX’s services can be added to our network in SMART buildings.

LOGIX is able to provide great flexibility in service offerings in SMART buildings.  High-speed Internet can be purchased in connections from 64K to 6 meg and is delivered on Ethernet to the tenant’s router.  Telephone service can range from one simple line to hundreds of lines and trunks.  Landlords work closely with LOGIX to assure new tenants are up and ready with Internet and telephone services before their move-in date. 

When a building is wired, it is much easier to connect tenants into a network since the new connection needs only to run from the customer site to the wire already in place throughout the building.  Connection of new service usually occurs in two to five days, although there have been instances when customers were connected the very same day they ordered the service.
