LOGIX COMMUNICATIONS CELEBRATES ITS 23RD BIRTHDAY WITH ANOTHER PROFITABLE QUARTER
HOUSTON, TEXAS (August 6, 2006) – On August 6, 1983, Ron Henriksen, a Houston native, formed a start-up long distance company, American Telco. Between 1983 and 1998 American Telco grew to a $52 million company, eventually becoming the first company in Texas to be allowed to compete with “Ma Bell” for local service customers. In 1998, Mr. Henriksen sold American Telco to an Oklahoma-based company and it was renamed LOGIX Communications. In 2002 LOGIX was repurchased by Mr. Henriksen.
Since the 2002 repurchase, LOGIX has enjoyed tremendous success, both in terms of profit and customer growth. In an industry where many of the players have gone out of business, LOGIX has managed to acquire and maintain a debt-free balance sheet and has had sixteen quarters of profitability. The number of access lines LOGIX provides its customers grew 15% last year and its churn rate has been less than 1% for eight quarters. “Our goal is to be the easiest telecom company to do business with. We accomplish this through the hard work and attention to customer satisfaction that is exhibited by our employees each and every day,” said Matt Asmus, CEO of LOGIX. “Also, our products are so reliable that we guarantee them. With that combination, we have been able to maintain profitability in a very competitive environment.”
With telecommunications legislation an ongoing issue, LOGIX is a leader in safeguarding competition for consumers. “It took decades for companies to be allowed to compete with the established telecom monopoly, and we are always vigilant about guarding the rights of consumers to choose their telecom provider,” Mr. Asmus said. “We have been providing high-quality service for 23 years and we plan to continue being a resource for telecommunications services for our customers. We are proud of our successful history and look forward to continued success.”
